Analysis of Roadway Design & Condition
Ethan Parker PE can provide an analysis of a roadway's design and condition from an engineering perspective. The following are some of the areas in which roadway design and condition are particularly relevant to accident investigation:
• Road geometry including the radius of a curve and its superelevation
• Grade of the roadway and its effect on braking and acceleration
• Sight distance, especially as it relates to safety at intersections
• Pavement edge drop off and its effect on a vehicle's safe reentry onto the pavement
• Vehicular interaction with roadside obstacles, such as guardrails, signs, poles, and trees.
